If you were waiting at your local Sprint store this past weekend to grab the LG Optimus S, you might have been disappointed to learn it wasn't there despite the promised launch date of October 31. It turns out Sprint has delayed the Optimus S by another week to November 7. If you want the purple version, you'll have to wait until November 21.

Either way, you're getting a deal. The Optimus S is very similar to the Optimus T from T-Mobile except it comes with Sprint ID, Sprint's new custom UI package. It ships with Android 2.2, has portable hot-spot capabilities, Wi-Fi, GPS, and more. Though not as affordable as the $29.99 Optimus T, the Optimus S comes close at only $49.99 after a new two-year service agreement from Sprint.
